FANTASY FOOTBALL: BRADY WILL RETURN TO FORM

There are an abundance of questions facing fantasy football owners heading into the 2009 NFL season. I already discussed LaDainian Tomlinson in a previous blog. Now it's New England quarterback Tom Brady's turn.

Brady will always command respect with his experience and past success. But will he return to Super Bowl form coming back from last year's season-ending knee injury (torn ACL)?

In the words of Sarah Palin....you betcha!

Some people are skeptical about how well Brady will fare. He's been all over the place in mock drafts the past month. On www.mockdraftcentral.com, over the last 405 drafts (as of 8 p.m. July 22), Brady has been drafted anywhere from No. 4 to No. 35. Most of the time he has been either the second or third quarterback taken with Drew Brees the first QB taken.

MARK THESE WORDS....Brady, whose knee seems to be just fine in limited workouts, will be pumped up for a huge season. He wants to make people forget about Matt Cassel and my gut feeling is he wants to make up for lost time. And take note of this....the Pats have to still be ticked after not making the playoffs with an 11-5 record last season.
With the combination of Brady behind center and the motivation to get back to the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if he led the Pats to another unbeaten regular season. But I'll be more realistic and say the Pats will go 14-2.

Expect Brady and receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker to have huge seasons. My personal projections have Brady throwing for 4,400 yards and 35 touchdowns. If you find yourself selecting a pick in the late second round or third round of your draft and Brady is available, grab him.
