FANTASY BASKETBALL-KEY ON CURRY, DAMPIER AND ILYASOVA

The past few weeks I’ve received a few phone calls from fantasy basketball enthusiasts, wondering why this fantasy blog centers its attention on football and baseball.
Okay, okay, the fantasy sports world doesn’t totally revolve around football, or even baseball for that matter, so here’s some fantasy basketball advice you can sink your teeth into.
Guys at the guard, forward and center positions you should consider starting these days who are not superstars called LeBron James, Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett are guard Stephen Curry, forward Ersan Ilyasova and center Erick Dampier.
Curry has been playing 30-plus minutes and has averaged almost 14 points and four rebounds a game the last four games. This includes 27 points against the Wizards. The added bonus here with Curry is steals – he has 15 in the last four games combined. Curry also has some great matchups coming up against teams that struggle on defense.
Ilyasova has been a bit inconsistent but he seems to be back on a good track averaging nearly 17 points and eight rebounds in his last five games. This is a forward who I have seen available on the waiver wires of various fantasy sports sites and I would grab him if you can.
I know some people who refuse to put Dampier on their team because he can disappear for a stretch of games. But he’s been on a roll the last five games averaging around 12 points, 12 rebounds and over two blocks a game.
I will do my best to post a basketball update at least every Wednesday. I’ll even post some fantasy hockey advice.
Fantasy fishing anyone?
