Fantasy Football: Injuries to monitor heading into Week 5

FANTASY FOOTBALL BLOG SCHEDULE
Mondays - recap of Sunday games, Wednesday - injury report, Thursday-waiver wire report, Saturday-who to start, who to sit
.........................................................................................................................................................

There are a bevy of injuries to monitor and one to react to the next few days.

The one to react to now.....
Be advised Washington back Clinton Portis is out 4-6 weeks with a groin separation injury. This means that Ryan Torrain likely takes over the starting duties. If he's available on your waiver wire, grab him ASAP.

Hamstring injuries are still nagging several players. Oakland back Darren McFadden missed practice on Wednesday and could miss another game with a hamstring injury. Indianapolis receiver Austin Collie, the top rated receiver in the NFL, missed practice on Wednesday with a hamstring injury.

Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler, who suffered a concussion against the Giants, returned to practice on Wednesday. He will likely start on Sunday.

New Orleans back Pierre Thomas continues to be hampered by an ankle injury and is iffy for Week 5. Keep an eye on him the next two days.
