Fantasy football: Week 6 recap

One of the biggest surprises in Week 6 was Philadelphia quarterback Kevin Kolb returning to the 300-yard passing form that he showed in 2009. After struggling in Week one and losing his job to Michael Vick, with Vick injured Kolb had another shot to start on Sunday. He ended up throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns to be the No. 1 rated QB in Week 6. Of course he does this the week I drop him in one of my leagues.
Other top quarterback performances were Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay) 313 yards, 1 touchdown; Peyton Manning (Indianapolis) 307 yards, 2 touchdowns; Matt Schaub (Houston) 305 yards, 2 touchdowns; Tom Brady (New England) 292 yards, 1 touchdown.

Another performance that came out of nowhere was the production of New Orleans backup Chris Ivory who contunes to sub with Ladell Betts for the injured Pierre Thomas. Ivory didn't have a touchdown but he led all backs in Week 6 with 158 yards rushing.
Other backs with solid performances were Frank Gore (San Francisco) 149 yards; Ahmad Bradshaw (Giants) 133 yards; Joseph Addai (Indianapolis) 128 yards, 1 touchdown; Chris Johnson (Tennessee) 111 yards, 1 touchdown

Philadelphia receiver DeSean Jackson got injured on Sunday and the lucky player reaping the benefits of more targets was Jeremey Maclin who ended up with 7 receptions, 159 yards and two touchdowns. Injured Detroit receiver Calvin Johnson was a game-time decision, he plays against the Giants and ended up with an impressive 5 receptions,146 yards and 1 touchdown. Other top receivers were Andre Johnson (Houston) 8 receptions, 138 yards, 1 touchdown; Greg Jennings (Green Bay) 6 receptions, 133 yards, 1 touchdown; Brandon Marshall (Miami) 10 receptions, 127 yards.

A blast from the past had the top rated tight end production as Cleveland's Benjamin Watson had 88 yards on 6 receptions and a touchdown. Other tight ends were Owen Daniels (Houston) 5 receptions, 79 yards; Dustin Keller (Jets) 3 receptions, 75 yards; Aaron Hernandez (New England) 4 receptions, 61 yards; Brandon Pettigrew (Detroit) 7 receptions, 61 yards.
