MY BERRIAN PICK: NOT BAD AFTER ALL

On Sunday (Aug. 16) I had my first of 12 fantasy football drafts and fellow owners in the league scoffed and ridiculed me when I selected Minnesota receiver Bernard Berrian with my fourth pick.
That pick isn't looking so bad now with one Mr. Brett Favre chucking the pigskin for the Vikings.
I think everyone had a feeling Favre was going to end up with the Vikings sometime this season as their quarterback. It just happened a lot sooner than some people figured it would with Favre now penciled in to start in the Vikes' next preseason game.
Sure, there is still a slight hamstring issue that Berrian is dealing with right now. The injury will likely keep him out of the remaining preseason games. But he is projected to be ready for opening day.
The Vikings also added a legitimate playmaking threat in recently drafted Percy Harvin to take some pressure off Berrian and free him up down field.
In 2007, Berrian had 70 catches for 948 yards and five TDs and last season due to various injuries he only had 48 catches but produced a decent 964 yards and seven touchdowns. With Favre aboard and Adrian Peterson drawing defensive attention, be advised this now projects to be a huge year for Berrian.
As long as Berrian and Favre stay healthy, I see Berrian putting up Larry Fitzgerald/Andre Johnson-type numbers with 80-90 receptions for at least 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns.
